‎Nicolas Jackson has described his excitement at joining forces with Harry Kane at Bayern Munich following his loan move from Chelsea.

‎The 24-year-old striker secured the switch to Bavaria in the final days of the transfer window after a drawn-out process. Chelsea initially considered blocking the deal due to an injury setback for Liam Delap, but the move was eventually completed with a £13 million (€15m/$17.5m) loan fee and a £56.2m (€65m/$76m) obligation to buy. The potential £70m ($94m) package makes the transfer one of the summer’s most notable deals. Reports also suggest Jackson waived part of a fee owed to him in order to push through the move.

‎Chelsea’s summer arrivals of strikers Liam Delap and Joao Pedro reduced Jackson’s opportunities at Stamford Bridge. The Senegalese forward also faced disciplinary challenges after receiving two red cards in quick succession. Manager Enzo Maresca gave the green light for the move, ending Jackson’s two-year stint at Chelsea where he recorded 30 goals in all competitions.

‎Jackson will now line up alongside England captain Harry Kane at the Allianz Arena, with the potential to create a formidable strike partnership. Speaking to Tuttosport, Jackson said: “The most important thing won’t be Harry and I, but the whole team. It’s a huge honour. Kane is one of the best strikers in the world. I hope to learn from him, complement his game, and build a strong bond on the pitch. We are two strikers who complement each other very well on the pitch, and we will work hard to ensure the results live up to expectations. Playing with a striker of his calibre and all the others will definitely help me improve.”

‎Jackson is yet to make his Bundesliga debut but could feature against Hamburg at the Allianz Arena after the international break. A highly anticipated test will follow on September 17, when Bayern host Chelsea in the Champions League opener. UEFA rules mean Jackson will be eligible to face his parent club, offering the chance for a dramatic reunion in front of the home crowd.
