‎After leaving Chelsea earlier this year, Sterling is determined to reignite his career. Chelsea announced their parting with a brief statement, highlighting Sterling’s contribution during his three-and-a-half-year spell:
‎"Raheem Sterling has departed Chelsea Football Club by mutual agreement. We thank him for his efforts and wish him the very best in his next career chapter."
‎Sterling initially joined Chelsea in 2022 under Thomas Tuchel, who described the winger as a key addition to the squad. He made a total of 81 appearances, scoring 19 goals and assisting 15, but his time at Stamford Bridge fell short of expectations. Tuchel praised his mobility, flexibility, and attacking instincts, calling him a perfect fit for the team.
‎The Englishman’s contract with Feyenoord runs until the end of the season. Currently, the Dutch giants sit in second place in the Eredivisie, 17 points behind PSV Eindhoven, making league glory a challenging target. Despite competition from Ajax, Feyenoord secured Sterling’s signature.
‎Sterling could make his debut against Go Ahead Eagles this weekend. Throughout his career, he has represented some of the Premier League’s biggest clubs—Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester City. Van Persie has shared that observing Pep Guardiola’s coaching methods at City shaped his approach, highlighting the importance of attention to detail and team cohesion. This move offers Sterling a new environment to regain his top form and make an impact in Dutch football.
