Barcelona Enter Transfer Race for Anthony Gordon Amid Bayern Munich Competition

‎Barcelona have officially moved into the race to secure Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United as they look to reinforce their attacking options ahead of the summer window. The Catalan side are prioritising the addition of a pacey winger, with sporting director Deco already initiating contact with the player’s camp in Catalonia. However, Bayern Munich remain firmly in contention.

‎Recent developments reported by RAC1 indicate that Barcelona’s recruitment focus has shifted toward Tyneside. Deco, accompanied by Bojan Krkic, held discussions at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper with representatives Will Salthouse and Adam Dugdale from Unique Sports.
‎The English winger has become a key objective for Barcelona after months of evaluating forwards suited to their tactical approach. His performances this season have made him one of the standout figures at Newcastle, increasing his appeal among Europe’s elite clubs.
‎Despite clear interest, the transfer presents significant challenges. Gordon remains under contract until 2030, strengthening Newcastle’s negotiating position. Reports suggest bids approaching €80 million have already been tabled, a valuation that complicates matters for Barcelona, who are simultaneously weighing a €30 million option for Marcus Rashford.
‎Competition from Bayern Munich further intensifies the situation. The German champions have been monitoring the player for an extended period and are believed to have established contact with his entourage. With greater financial flexibility, Bayern are well positioned to act quickly should Newcastle entertain offers.
‎Barcelona must now clarify their financial plans, including potential player departures, before committing to such a significant outlay. As the transfer window approaches, the situation is expected to escalate, requiring swift and decisive action from the Catalan club to stay ahead in the race.
