Inter Miami Remain Front-Runners for Casemiro Ahead of Summer Exit

Inter Miami continue discussions with Casemiro as his Manchester United contract nears expiration, with MLS rules and global interest shaping a potential move.
The Brazilian is expected to depart Old Trafford in June, and the MLS Cup holders are among the leading sides aiming to secure his signature. A switch to Miami would also reunite him on the same stage as long-time CONMEBOL rival Lionel Messi.

Talks between the parties are ongoing, although no agreement has been finalized. The experienced midfielder has attracted interest from several regions, including strong links to the Saudi Pro League. However, transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano indicates that a move to Miami currently appears to be the most probable outcome.
Despite that, completing the deal would not be straightforward. MLS financial regulations could present a major hurdle, as Miami already occupy all three designated player slots. This situation would require Casemiro to accept a substantial reduction in wages in order to complete the transfer.
Back in England, there have been voices within Manchester United hoping the midfielder might extend his stay. His performances have improved under Michael Carrick, and supporters recently urged him to remain for another season following an impressive display against Brentford FC. Even so, the player has remained firm in his intention to leave.
Looking more broadly, Casemiro could become part of a growing trend of players heading to MLS after the World Cup. Atlético Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann has already agreed to join Orlando City SC, while speculation continues over possible moves involving Robert Lewandowski and Mohamed Salah once their current contracts expire.
