The City manager also disclosed that it has been an emotional few days for Haaland, who has recently become a father when his partner Isabel Haugseng Johansen welcomed their first child. Haaland announced in October that he and his girlfriend were expecting.

He told reporters, "Erling has sometimes been regarded harshly, but that is part of football. He's fatigued after playing a lot of minutes. He became a parent for the first time in the previous few days, which has been a very emotional and wonderful moment for him.
