Cristiano Ronaldo agrees one-year contract extension with Saudi Al-Nassr just days after celebrating 40th birthday

Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly agreed to sign a new contract extension with Al-Nassr, just days after turning 40.

Ronaldo's contract, which he signed with the Saudi giants in January 2023 for two and a half years, would have expired at the conclusion of the 2024/25 season. However, an Al-Nassr official has reportedly told the AFP that the Portuguese star has agreed to prolong his stay for another year, with the new contract lasting until June 2026.

The official told AFP: "The sides have agreed on a renewable extension of Ronaldo's contract, but it has not yet been signed. We will make an announcement in the coming days."

Ronaldo's deal comes less than a week after turning 40. The former Manchester United and Real Madrid great celebrated his milestone birthday with a goal against Al Feiha in a critical Saudi Pro League match on February 6, which Al-Nassr won 3-0.

Al-Nassr return to league action on Thursday, when they face Al-Ahli away from home.
