Arsenal Injury Blow: Kai Havertz Set to Miss Key Fixtures Including Tottenham Clash

‎Arsenal attacker Kai Havertz is preparing for another period out of action after suffering a new injury. The German international has already missed a large portion of the 2025-26 campaign due to several fitness setbacks, and he is now expected to be unavailable for a number of upcoming games. Among the matches he is likely to miss is next weekend’s north London derby against Tottenham Hotspur.

‎Havertz’s season has already been heavily interrupted. Toward the end of the 2024-25 season, he was recovering from a hamstring problem that kept him out for the final three months. Shortly after the start of the 2025-26 season, he then sustained a knee injury just one week in, which kept him sidelined for around four-and-a-half months before he returned during the first half of January.

‎Manager Mikel Arteta previously explained that Havertz needed to be reintroduced carefully following such an extended spell out. However, the player has now encountered another fitness concern.

‎Reports from The Athletic state that Havertz has suffered a muscular injury. It remains unclear whether the problem occurred during training or during Arsenal’s 3-0 victory over Sunderland at the weekend.

‎Because of this latest issue, Havertz is expected to miss Arsenal’s upcoming fixtures against Brentford on Thursday, Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup on Sunday, Wolves the following Wednesday, and the north London derby away to Tottenham next Sunday.

‎Before the Brentford game, Arteta did not specifically list Havertz among the unavailable players, as he was only asked directly about Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, Leandro Trossard and Max Dowman.

‎Arteta said: “Max is still not available. The rest we will see with the medical team.”
‎
‎The Arsenal manager also provided an update on Mikel Merino, who recently had foot surgery. Arteta said: “The doctors were really happy with the way it went. The time frame we're talking about is months, whether it's three, four or five, I don't know.”
‎
‎So far this season, Havertz has made seven appearances in all competitions for Arsenal, scoring twice and providing two assists. One of those goals was the winner against his former club Chelsea in the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final last week. He now faces a challenge to regain fitness in time for the crucial final stage of Arsenal’s season and Germany’s upcoming World Cup campaign.
