Recent reports indicate that the Portuguese club has slashed their asking price for Gyokeres, significantly altering the landscape for potential suitors. According to The Sun, Sporting CP is now willing to accept a transfer fee between £55 million ($70.7 million) and £70 million ($90 million), a reduction from the inflated figure discussed in January. While still a hefty sum, this revised price tag could make the striker a more viable option for both Arsenal and Manchester United, who have been tracking him for several months.
Despite this positive development for English clubs, another potential complication has emerged. Al-Qadsiyah, a Saudi Pro League newcomer, has reportedly entered the race for Gyokeres’ signature. The club, aiming to challenge Saudi Arabia’s football giants, possesses significant financial power and could offer Sporting a larger up-front transfer fee, which the club may prefer. This monetary advantage could give the Saudi side an edge over the Premier League suitors.
It remains uncertain whether Gyokeres is willing to make a swift move to the Saudi Pro League, with the player having previously expressed admiration for United's head coach Ruben Amorim.
